Yes, for the customer’s protection, the charging process can only be started with the smartphone app or a charging card/chip (if available).
Like the search for charging stations, charging can be started directly through the app and/or the charging card/(chip. The sequence of the process may be different depending on the type of charging station. The vehicle in coupled to the charging station with the cable. The corresponding charging point is selected through the app and charging is started with a click (or the charging card). Alternatively, if the charging point is locked until used (for example with ladenetz.de), first select the desired charging station on the app and launch the corresponding charging process. The flap will be unlocked and you will be prompted to connect the cable.
The charging process stops when it is manually stopped through the app/charging card or you disconnect the cable. There is no automatic stop when the batter is charged. Please note that parking at a charging station without using it to charge may be prohibited or subject to a fee depending on the provisions of the charging point operator or other local parking regulations.
No, you only pay when you charge. A fee is billed for each charging process. In addition, the interval between starting and stopping the charging process and the amount of electricity charged are logged. This is used to calculate the total amount after each charging process. The amount and the breakdown depend on the pricing model of the charging station.
The power charged is billed after charging. The invoice is generated for each individual charging process and sent by Bosch to the e-mail address you have saved. Depending on which charging point operator supplied the power, it can take several days or weeks to send the invoice.
To show you as many charging points as possible, offline charging stations are shown in gray in the app, for which/on which you may find further information on access locally. These charging stations do not show a dynamic status in the app and you can’t pay through the app either. Integration of these charging stations with full functionality is planned for the future. Many will remain permanently offline. These are mostly older models which do not have an internet connection.

Signature verification may be available for digital measurements of charges (kWh) received at German charging stations. Please note that not all charging station operators provide us with the necessary information. You can tell whether this information is available by the fact that your invoice contains additional information (e.g. initial meter reading, final meter reading, public key, encryption format, possibly additional information from the charging point operator on the supported software). For some charging stations, this information is not displayed on the bill but only directly at the charging station. Bosch has no influence on this. The signature validation is used to verify that the figures at the charging station have been correctly recorded and have not been modified before invoicing. One example of signature validation software is S.A.F.E.: https://www.safe-ev.de/en/transparency_software.php. Please note that this is third party software and Bosch cannot provide support/assistance for installation and operation of such third party software. If you have any questions regarding installation and operation, please contact the software provider directly.
When you use our charging service, a temporary hold will be placed on your credit card by Robert Bosch GmbH. This hold does not deduct the amount from your card, but it reserves funds to cover the cost of your charging session. The actual charging cost will only be deducted once the Operator sends the invoice receipt to Bosch and Bosch processes the final invoice total for payment. Any remaining reserved funds will be cleared. Please note that the amount may vary depending on the local currency.
